The theme for this year’s edition of the annual Austrian arts festival Steirischer Herbst will be ‘Red Flags’, considering a broad shift to conservatism within global politics.
The festival is curated by Ekaterina Degot, David Riff, Line Spellenberg and Pieternel Vermoortel, and supported by junior curators Beatrice Forchini and Lukas Michelitsch, with curatorial advice from Gábor Thury. It will take place in Graz and Styria, Austria from 24 September to 18 October 2026.
