Thiago de Paula Souza will curate the 2027 Athens Biennale.
Currently a member of the artistic committee of NESR Art Foundation in Angoa, De Paula Souza has recently served a cocurator of the 2025 Bienal de São Paulo and as cocurator of the 2024 Panorama da Arte Brasileira at MAM São Paulo. In 2018, he was a member of the curatorial team of the 10th Berlin Biennale.
Founded as an independent initiative in 2005, the Athens Biennale now has a new management structure led by a board of trustees and advisors that is chaired by the businessmen and art collectors George Economou and Dakis Joannou.
